The Visionary Behind the Global Mission of The Kabbalah Centre

Without Karen Berg, The Kabbalah Centre as we know it would not exist today. In a time when kabbalistic study was reserved exclusively for married Jewish men over the age of 40, Karen opened the doors for this wisdom to be studied by anyone–regardless of their gender identity, faith, race, or background. Along with her husband, Rav Berg, Karen not only made the wisdom of Kabbalah accessible and available to all who wanted to learn but created a place in which we could come together as a community to study, connect, and grow.

During the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, The Karen Berg Scholarship Fund was established to meet the growing needs of our global community–both students, new and old–- and their desire to stay connected on their spiritual path. 

Through the start of the Pay What You Can donation-based model for our foundational Kabbalah 1,2,3 courses, we were able to offer over 217,000 new and returning students the ability to participate in over 1,380 online courses in just four years.

This fund has also sponsored over 12,490 lives to date with 6 months of our online Onehouse Community Membership—giving access to those needing flexible learning options to in-depth resources from our extensive online library of live streams, video courses, and articles.

Unwavering in our commitment to Karen’s legacy and our nonprofit mission, The Kabbalah Centre never turns down a request for scholarship or financial assistance.

Since inception, the demand – and our support — has grown.

The majority of our new students will begin their spiritual journey in our foundational Kabbalah 1 course. Over the years, we’ve granted thousands of full scholarships and increased access and our reach through The Karen Berg Scholarship fund every year:

  • 2022: 3,639 lives

We plan to help as many new and current students as possible by:

  1. Increasing the number of foundational Kabbalah 1, 2, and 3 scholarships 

    Our foundational Kabbalah 1 Courses are our most impactful way of creating a ripple effect of positive global change and fulfilling our mission. Over 41% of our online Kabbalah 1 students will go on to take another course! That means that because of your support, we’re able to reach more new students and create a supportive, inclusive community of lifelong students of The Kabbalah Centre.
